The consortium has been established by the top Polish institutions working in the field of quantum information science: Center for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CTP PAS), Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science of Jagiellonian University (FPAACS JU), and Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (ITAI PAS). It is supported by supported by the TEAM-NET grant funded by the Foundation for Polish Science, and runs four research groups:
Theory of Quantum Computing (CTP PAS)
Group Leader: Michał Oszmaniec
Theoretical foundations of quantum supremacy experiments, error characterization and mitigation on NISQ devices, quantum measurement theory, classical simulations, theory of NISQ algorithms
Quantum Machine Learning (ITAI PAS)
Group Leader: Zbigniew Puchała
Devising reliable certification techniques for quantum measurements and channels, deriving a method for compiling combinatorial problems to Ising models suitable for quantum annealing.
Quantum Resources (FPAACS JU)
Group Leader: Kamil Korzekwa
Classical simulations of quantum circuits, resource-theoretic approach to quantum communication, decoherence theory, dissipation of quantum resources, quantum advantages in thermodynamics
Quantum Error-Correction (FPAACS JU)
Group Leader: Felix Huber
Interplay between quantum error correction, entanglement, many-body systems, mathematical physics, and non-commutative algebra.
